Remodeling of Plaça Corsini in Tarragona with RKL

Mercat Tarragona destacada -

One of Tarragona’s commercial hubs, Plaça Corsini, popularly known as Plaça del Mercat, has been completely renovated, coinciding with the total refurbishment of the market building itself. This building was designed in the Modernist style by Josep Maria Pujol de Barberà and opened in 1916.

The lighting for the square was designed using our minimalist RKL set, a model that integrates the column and luminaire into the same tube, offering the most minimalist design possible. Another characteristic feature of this set is the light source, which has 16 LED modules. This means that if more power is needed, additional modules can be added on top of each other. The set can accommodate up to 4 modules, allowing for the installation of up to 48 LEDs arranged in 4 different levels.

The technical specifications of the RKL set installed in this project are:

RKL 48 LEDs | Power 110W | 4000K

Each set has a fairly high power due to the separation between light points, which allows for more free space as a square. Even with this high interdistance, a uniformity of 0.50 has been obtained in the lighting study.

Light pollution in the space is reduced to values below 1% of FHS (Upper Hemisphere Flux), thanks to the arrangement and assembly of the different LED diodes and their lenses.
