Renovation of Ceuta’s Gran Vía by Iluminación Roura
ILUMINACIÓN ROURA was the company selected to produce the 16 artistic chandeliers. To do so, technologies from both the present and the past were used, with some processes being industrialised and others carried out by hand using forging techniques. Steel was the material chosen for the entire structure, which, once manufactured, was hot-dip galvanised.
The first step was to design the chandelier and all its components in 3D, in order to analyse all the construction details and calculate its structure using finite elements.
In this manufacturing process, it is worth highlighting the construction process of the dragon, which was carried out in three stages. After the dragon was designed and modelled in clay by the sculptor Oscar Berlanga, a 3D scan of the piece was made so that it could be manufactured in cast aluminium.
Another important feature of the chandeliers is the lighting, which has been manufactured using LED technology and a colour temperature of 3000K. This has made it possible to combine tradition with innovation to create a unique and, above all, comfortable space.
